Mansei Auto Release Hook Notice

If you have a rescue boat/ liferaft combined davit from Mansei, you might want to check the model and the release hook.

Mansei announced in their technical notice SI-000-009-J-2 that some of their davits from 2007 to 2011 used a CAR35 release hook produced by Ned Deck. The affected models are SR-2/SW-2 and SR-3/SW-3. Many customers have asked for service, overhaul and replacement of these hooks, but Mansei advises to switch to their own RH-3 release hook instead. This way, you can get service from Mansei approved service companies and enjoy the benefits of the RH-3 hook, which is a dual function hook that works with various rescue boats and liferafts from different manufacturers. For example, the RH-3 hook is compatible with rescue boats from Jiangsu Jiaoyan, Shigi, Nishi-F and liferafts from Fujikura, RFD, Viking and more.

In this case, your appointed service station does not need to have an approval from Ned Deck (Palfinger now) to service the davits and release hook.

Please note that if you have the SR-2 type davit, you also need to install a joint plate along with the RH-3 hook.
